Facial masks are one of those secret tips to help clear skin. Skin care specialists always recommend doing a mask once a week and some people actually do. Unfortunately, many people do not continue doing a weekly mask as maintenance and most other people never do one in the first place. Masks not only are good for your skin, but they can also help you to relax. Masks have different properties. Some masks are good for oily skin by drying out the skin and helping to close pores. Other masks are good for dryer skins, and can be hydrating and help add moisture to the skin.
Most masks contain “special” ingredients that are more concentrated than moisturizers and creams. Masks contain ingredients such as minerals, special mud, vitamins and/or plant or seaweed extracts. Some masks are even meant to detoxify your skin by drawing the toxins as well as dirt and oil to the surface of your skin. For thousands of years, women have been using mud, seawater and plants on their skin to help tighten, tone and give a younger appearance to their skin. Now you can too. Just remember to do it!
There are many good physician-strength masks, but we recommend using neaclear facial mask once a week to help refresh and rehydrate your skin.
The Holiday Season is here once again. As usual, our schedules get booked full of Holiday Parties, Cookies, and Shopping. Not only are we busy with work and family, but we have to add extra parties and shopping to our schedule. We also have to worry about not only ourselves, but also for others. Let’s not even mention the Holiday cookies we get from family and co-workers, Egg Nog and lack of exercise due to our busy lives. It is no wonder we tend to gain 5 – 20 pounds during this stressful time of year.
We have some tips to help you maintain your weight during this Holiday season:
Holiday Tip #1: Don’t Deprive Yourself of Food
Trying to eat a small salad while everyone is stuffing their faces on Turkey, Stuffing, Potatoes and Pie will only make you miserable. Compensating for your loss of fulfillment will cause you to overeat either later that day or at the next event you attend.
Holiday Tip #2: Eat a Little Before the Party
If you are starving when you arrive, chances are, you will overeat once you have a variety of foods in front of you. If you eat a small salad, bowl of soup, or some fruits prior to your party or event, you will not be starving when you arrive. This way, you will be able to enjoy the company more than the food.
Holiday Tip #3: Eat Slow & Watch Your Portions
By eating too fast, our bodies cannot register fullness. It takes our bodies approximately 20 minutes to acknowledge that we are full. If you eat slowly, not only will you enjoy your meal, but you won’t consume as many calories as if you ate fast. Watching portions can be easy - by taking a taste of each dish. You can sample everything served, any you won’t have to worry about consuming many calories.
Holiday Tip #4: Don’t Drink too much Alcohol
Alcohol accompanies almost every holiday party, consuming too many drinks not only impairs your ability to control eating, but alcohol contains empty calories. Consuming 2 drinks compares to a meal or a piece of pie. If you choose to consume alcohol, drink lower calorie beverages, such as Vodka and Soda or Seltzer water since these have fewer calories than Juice.
Holiday Tip #5: Compliment Food-Pushing Hosts
When attending Holiday parties, most hosts try to push food on their guests. Be polite and compliment them on their delicious food, but mention that you are stuffed and cannot eat another bite. Mention that you would love to take a plate of food home with you, if there is anything leftover!
Holiday Tip #6: Eat Dessert
Why deprive yourself of Pumpkin Pie? Eat a small piece and savor every bite. Instead of watching everyone indulge in dessert, now you can too.
Holiday Tip #7: Be Active
Schedules are tight and exercise is usually the first to be put aside during the Holiday season. Do some form of exercise, even a 15 minute brisk walk? Even moving a little bit will stimulate your heart to burn more calories, helping to burn off that small piece of pie you ate.
Radiance is unlike any other Injectable filler, it is a pure compound that has been used for over 20 years. The main component of Radiance is Calcium Hydroxylapatite, which is similar to the calcium present in the human body, specifically the teeth. Radiance has a cream-like texture that remains soft and flexible once injected and does not cause lumpiness once the swelling goes down and feels natural in the lips and facial lines. Radiance has no allergy testing requirement. Radiance can be performed immediately and is naturally compatible within the body. Radiance is naturally metabolized by the body and can last up to 3 - 5 years.
Radiance is used primarily in the lines between the nose and mouth, upper lip, smile and frown lines, acne scars and thinning lips. Your plastic surgeon will typically inject a numbing agent into the area to be treated and then begin the Radiance injections. Any swelling that occurs lasts about 24 hours and is mostly from the numbing agent.
