Skin Care Tip

Science At Your Fingertips!

The future of skin care products is leaning toward a more sophisticated and scientific approach. Leading the charge the last few years are peptide ingredients!

What are peptides? Peptides are formed when several amino acids are linked. Peptides work to enhance natural processes, such as stimulating collagen production and blocking the enzymes that destroy elastin. The end result is to help skin remain firmer and more resilient.

Specially, look for Acetyl hexapeptide-3 in skincare products. This peptide relaxes the movement of the muscles that cause facial wrinkles and decreases the depth of wrinkles.

Science is changing skincare product formulations. Use peptides at any age for prevention or treatment of aging skin!

Anti-Aging Tip

Technology Stressors!

Are you overloading the circuits in your brain? Overloading your system or brain is a recipe for stress. To evaluate, examine all you take in each and every day. Do you watch the news on TV? Regularly check voice mail or email on your phone? Read on the Internet? Perhaps listen to the radio during your commute? If so, it’s time to limit your technology impulses. They are overloading your body!

Information overload is especially harmful in midlife because we have less tolerance for stress, which can create high blood pressure or heart disease. Even a half-day off of technology will reduce your stress level and preserve your energy. So limit your TV and email time, turn your phone ringer to silence, and take a deep breathe.

Plastic Surgery Tip

Chicago Short Scar Facelift

A Short-Scar facelift is a minimal-incision facelift that repositions the skin and soft tissue of the face affected by the aging process. Short-Scar Facelifts are multi-layered where internal soft tissue structures are adjusted separately from the skin that covers them. The scarring behind the ear and in the hairline behind the ear is eliminated with a short-scar face lift. This procedure is often performed with a mid-facelift to give a more natural appearance.

During this facial cosmetic plastic surgery, all areas of concern that show facial aging are repositioned. Skin from the fat and muscles below the skin surface are separated. Fat may be trimmed to help improve the contour. The muscles and SMAS membrane are tightened, skin is repositioned and any excess skin is removed. Facial structure plays a major role in determining the outcome of any facial cosmetic procedure. Your Plastic Surgeon will be able to determine if a Short-Scar Facelift is best for you.
