Skin Care Secrets From Nature

When you hear acid and skincare together, do you get concerned?

Don’t be. Natural acids have wonderful properties for skincare treatments. Two acids effective at treating multiple skin issues are malic acid, derived from apples and pears, and mandelic acid, derived from almonds. Mandelic acid is naturally antibacterial so it fights off acne-causing bacteria, while controlling the oil in the skin and protecting it from redness and irritation. Malic acid keeps the skin hydrated and fights the free radicals that contribute to skin damage and pigmentation. Both of these natural acids also contain collagen-producing properties that repair and rebuild issue, and soften fine lines and wrinkles.

Both mandelic and malic acids are gentle and suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.  Natural acids are ideal because they absorb faster into the skin then their chemical counterparts.

All natural gives you a quicker and more effective result!

Anti-Aging Tip

Move & Groove!

Getting physical is associated with all kinds of health benefits. Regular exercise strengthens your bones, controls diabetes and obesity, helps blood pressure, etc. Ongoing research indicates that 30 minutes of physical activity at least 5 days a week is a significant component of a cancer fighting program. Activities can include walking, dancing or running. This can be as easy as just walking part of the way to the office or the grocery store. A dog is often a better walking partner than an exercise buddy. With spring just around the corner think about adding walking to your daily regimen.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

Plastic Surgery Tip

Erase Unwanted Beauty Marks!

Have you been blessed with moles somewhere on your body? Moles that annoy you! Moles that get caught on your clothing? Nowadays, there are easy solutions for your concerns.

A mole is a brownish spot ranging in color from tan to bluish black. Some are flat resembling freckles; others are raised and darker. Flat moles can easily be removed with several nonablative laser treatments. Raised moles can also be removed with laser treatments after they are professionally shaved off by a physician. With both of these treatments there is usually  no scarring. Another removal treatment for raised moles is excising them(if they extend deep into the skin). However, this does result in a small scar.

Remember, watch your moles and if there are any changes in color, shape or size, consult with your plastic surgeon!

During your consult with Dr. Speron, the patient will discuss their desired goals on an individual level.  Then they will further discuss the course of treatment and potential complications at the appointment time. Please check out the wealth of information on our site by clicking here.

Make sure you chose a board certified plastic surgeon.  A call to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS at 1-888-4-PLASTIC (ie. 1-888-475-2784) can tell you which doctors are legitimate plastic surgeons with outstanding qualifications.  You can also visit the ASPS web site at www.plasticsurgery.org. The ASPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and all areas of the body. When considering a cosmetic surgeon, you should also make sure your surgeon is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS).  A call to ASAPS (1-888-272-7711) or visiting the ASAPS website (www.plasticsurgery.org) can help you verify your plastic surgeons membership.
