Skin Care Tip

Maintaining Healthy Skin With A Rejuvenating Facial!

Our skin is the largest organ in the human body. The skin performs several functions including protecting us from foreign substances and serving as a gatekeeper releasing toxins from our bodies.

Facials are treatments that help maintain the health of skin and correct certain skin conditions. They also are beneficial treatments to rejuvenate and nourish your skin by simulating blood circulation. Blood brings oxygen to the skin’s surface, which is essential for cell growth by removing toxins and helping to rid the skin of any impurities. The skin’s muscle fibers are also being strengthened, toned and nourished by facial massage, which also helps to slow the aging process.

Facials consist of a deep skin treatment that cleanses, re-hydrates and rejuvenates the skin. Getting regular facials are relaxing and include the following benefits:

- Relaxes the senses, nerves, and muscles
- Stimulates the skin functions and metabolism
- Slows down premature aging
- Corrects or alleviates conditions such as dryness, oiliness, or redness
- Softens wrinkles and aging lines
- Helps clear up blemishes and minor acne

It is best to begin facial treatments in your mid to late 20’s, unless you are a teenager who suffers from acne. The ideal plan is to get facial treatments every 4-6 weeks. Over a series of facial treatments, you will begin to notice improved complexion changes in your skin.

Anti-Aging Tip

Sweetness Can Be Deadly!

There is growing research documenting the harmful effects of consuming high-fructose corn syrup. It is now known without a doubt that sugar in your food, in all its myriad forms, is taking a devastating toll. Fructose in any form – including high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and crystalline fructose – is the worst of the worst!

If you receive your fructose only from vegetables and fruits (where it originates) as most people did a century ago, you’d consume about 15 grams per day. Fructose in vegetables and fruits is mixed with fiber, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and beneficial phytonutrients, all of which moderate any negative metabolic effects. However, today, the typical adolescent consumes 73 grams of fructose per day largely from sweetened drinks. It is not that fructose itself is bad – it is the massive doses one consumes that make it dangerous.

The main reason fructose is so damaging is that your body metabolizes it in a different way than glucose. The entire burden of metabolizing fructose falls on your liver. This can cause insulin resistance and obesity, elevated blood pressure, increased triglycerides and LDL levels, depletion of vitamins and minerals, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, cancer, arthritis and even gout!

Plastic Surgery Tip

Chicago Excisional Back Lipectomy!

Lots of people are interested in getting an excisional back lipectomy or butt lift. We always get questions about whether or not the procedure is necessary and effective. Surgical body lifting and rejuvenation is a very common procedure and very safe if performed by an accredited physician.

Think of a butt lift as doing to the back what a tummy tuck does to the front.
