How is the waxing service performed?

 We cleanse the area with a solution to degrease the skin and remove any traces of makeup or dirt and oil.  If necessary, we apply Baby powder pre-waxing to remove any moisture and help the wax adhere to the skin.  We apply the warm wax to the area and massage a cloth strip over the area to ensure the wax is sticking to the strip and not your skin.  After warning you, we quickly pull the strip off.  When waxing is complete, we apply a cream to help remove any wax left behind and apply a moisturizer to soothe the skin and help prevent any ingrown hairs.

Waxing can also help benefit our clients who come in for Laser Hair Removal.  Especially on the face where the hair is dark and coarse, we can wax within 1 - 2 weeks after a laser treatment to help the hair fall out from the hair follicle.  This is the best suggestion between laser treatments to deal with any remaining hair.  Waxing thus can remove the need for plucking hair and help to ensure that you get the best results from the Laser Hair Treatments. 

Shaving, Trimming and Tweezing can break the hair at the surface and stimulate more hair growth and cause the hair to become darker and coarse.  Over time, the hair in the waxed area will begin to appear lighter and thinner and can be spread out over a course of 4-6 weeks between waxing treatments.

Laser Hair Removal can complement patients who have been waxing for years.  These clients seem to get the best results from the laser treatments.  Due to the fact that hair grows in three different stages, which includes:

• Anagen Phase:  Growing phase
• Catagen Phase: Intermediate phase
• Telogen Phase: Shedding phase

 Waxing helps to organize the hair growth and place it on a program which benefits hair laser removal.
