Skin Care Tip
Sun damage and the environment!
The incidence of skin cancer is still at an all time high. The rise is expected to continue on and on. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, and one American dies every hour from this easily preventable disease. The worst part about this epidemic is that the risk of skin cancer can be reduced greatly by wearing sunscreen everyday. Since the ozone layer has a hole in it, the UV rays of the sun are more harmful now than they have ever been. UV rays can cause several forms of skin cancer but melanoma is the most deadly one evreryone worries about. Melanoma starts in skin cells called melanocytes which are the cells that give skin its color. Melanin usually protects the skin from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. If the skin receives too much ultraviolet light, the melanocytes may begin to grow abnormally and become cancerous.
There are also two other types of skin cancers called Basal cell carcinoma and Squamous cell carcinoma. These two cancers have a cure rate as high as 95% if detected and treated early. The key is to watch for changing skin and seek medical treatment early. If you spot a rough-textured growth anywhere on your body see your Doctor promptly. Keep in mind with proper protection from UV rays most premature aging of the skin and skin cancers can be avoided or reduced.

Healthy outdoor BBQs!
As the summer comes to a close, grilling season is still around! Here in the Midwest, we take barbecuing very seriously and many families replace several dinners throughout the week for chargrilled burgers and hot dogs. Unfortunately, foods that are usually consumed during grilling season are high in calories and saturated fats. Luckily, there are ways to still remain relatively healthy when enjoying one of America’s favorite past-times and we’re here to give you some easy tips to keep in mind.
Let’s start off with the most central and obvious item that is synonymous with grilling – meat. If you are opting for a healthier grilling experience, then try to stick to lean meats such as fish, chicken, or turkey instead of red meats. Veggie burgers are also a delicious yet healthy option. Also, make sure to go for whole grain buns over white and when it comes to topping your meat off, opt for reduced fat cheese.
As difficult as it may be, eliminating or greatly reducing sauces will cut down many calories and unhealthy ingredients. If that is not feasible, then consider making your own marinade. Knowing what exactly goes into it makes it easier to stay healthy.
A few other tips to keep in mind:
-Take the skin off your chicken
-Consume smaller portions
-Throw vegetables onto the grill!
-Skip the potato and pasta salads.
Happy grilling season everyone!
Plastic Surgery Tip
Chicago Liposuction & Exercise
Liposuction is a very popular option that people may choose for weight loss. It involves suctioning subcutaneous fat cells that have built up and aggregated together. However, research is showing that in order to receive optimal results and prevent regaining weight, it is important for patients to exercise after they are done fully healing. It can certainly be possible for fat to return after a certain amount of time after surgery and many times it can resurface as visceral fat in the abdominal area.
However, research has found that having a regular exercise routine after liposuction is extremely beneficial in preventing the return of any fat. Not to mention, it is also has many other benefits for overall health and well-being.
