Skin Care Tip
Organic Skin Care is the Latest Fad!
What does organic mean?
When it comes to the beauty industry, the term “organic” has been lobbed about so casually that most consumers mix organic with natural products. How ever, this is a common misconception.
The main difference between natural and organic is that there are no official guidelines as far as to what constitutes natural products, whereas organic products must abide by stringent regulations. According to the USDA’s National Organic Program, the term “organic” may only be used on labels for raw or processed products or ingredients that have been produced according to the regulations put forth by the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB).
So how can you tell if a product is really organic?
100% organic: Must contain 100% organically produced ingredients.
Organic or Certified Organic: At least 95% of content is organic. This product can carry the USDA organic seal.
Made with Organic Ingredients: At least 70% of content is organic, These products cannot carry the USDA organic Seal.
Is organic Really Better?
With so much hype behind the organic beauty movement, one assumes there must be huge benefit to using organic products.
There is an aesthetic advantage and a noticeable difference when using organic products. Some non organic products use petrochemical ingredients such as mineral oil which can irritate sensitive skin. Also, skin recognizes and identifies with all natural products better.
So yes, in my opinion organic is better.
Pilates Can Be a Way of Life!
What are Pilates? An innovative system of mind-body exercise evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates.
Pilates dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen.
Pilates teach body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. Pilates can alleviate back pain and proven to relieve stress.
Professional dancers have known the benefits of Pilates for decades. Top athletes use it for strength, flexibility and injury prevention. Hollywood celebrities use it to maintain beautiful physiques.
The benefits of Pilates are simple. Pilates gets your mind in tune with your body, by emphasizing proper breathing and correct spinal and pelvic alignment. Learning to breathe properly can also reduce stress. Conventional workouts tend to build short, bulky muscles. Pilates elongates and improves muscle elasticity and joint mobility.
It is a challenging workout but worth it.
Plastic Surgery Tip
Breast Augmentation: Saline vs. Silicone
Some surgeons feel that silicone implants have a more natural look and feel than saline implants because silicone gel has a texture is more similar to breast tissue. When Saline implants rupture, they deflate and the results are seen almost immediately. When silicone implants rupture the breast often looks and feels the same because silicone gel may leak into the surrounding areas of the breast without a visible difference. Replacing a ruptured silicone is more difficult than replacing a ruptured saline implant.
Saline implants have a silicone rubber shell that is inflated to the desired size with sterile saline. Once inflated, the tubing is removed and the self-sealing valve does not allow.
Silicone implants have a silicone rubber shell that is filled with a fixed amount of silicone gel; each implant has a patch that covers the manufacturing port implant.
Silicone implants vary in shell surface (smooth/ texture) shape, profile, volume, shell thickness, and number of shell lumens. Most silicone gel-filled implants are not adjustable.
