Reasons to Wear Sunscreen Daily

After months of miserable weather, we’re finally seeing some sunshine and it’s only natural that we take advantage of the sun while it is out. Although some of us may be underestimating what the rays of the sun can do towards our skin! Studies shows 1 out of 5 actually wear sun protection daily. For women, most foundations and moisturizers retailed today contain at least SPF 15, although anything lower than SPF 15 is not worth protecting. It should be known that the sun is responsible for most signs of aging, and defending your skin from its rays keeps your skin looking younger, longer. At least 80 percent of aging is due to sun exposure.

We’ve learned that the sun has some benefits on our skin. The sun’s ultra violet rays help generate vitamin D in our body, though this only works if you are sitting directly under the sun and not behind glass windows. Vitamin D helps prevent depression, osteoporosis and breast cancer. It also aids in lowering your cholesterol, blood pressure and even affects obesity and diabetes. Even though the sun benefits us in many ways, too much exposure can cause serious damage to your skin. So make sure to wear your sunscreen every day, even when the sun is not visible! No matter what kind of weather it is, UV rays are always there. In fact, the exposure through the clouds can even be more significant than blue skies. This is why everyone should wear sunblock daily, including the winter time. Applying sunscreen can essentially help protect your skin from getting sunburned. Other than being painful, sunburns can be associated with increasing your risk for melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer. Daily sun protection can help you prevent wrinkles, unwanted UV exposure and even skin cancer. The earlier and more often people apply sunscreen to protect their skin from the sun rays, the more they lower their risks of getting this disease. Sunscreen is more important than you think.

Some of us may not have enough hours in the day to accomplish everything we need to do. It is moreover an added stress when you are trying to add healthy habits into your already frantic agenda. However, if you stop and take the time to include healthy behaviors into your daily routine, you will find yourself with extra reserves of energy that will help lower your stress!

If you don’t hear this enough, water is an overall marvel substance. It is great for your circulatory system, digestive system, keeping your skin young and even helps with weight loss! If you are feeling fatigued throughout the day, it is probably due to not being properly hydrated. Water is the most natural substance that our body can take! If you do not like the taste of water, you can add a slice of lemon into your water. This will cut any bitterness, and will also add a bit of vitamin C! Now if you are one of the individuals that run on sugar and caffeine, you can substitute these with beverages like 100% fruit juice or green tea.

When you are shopping for groceries, take the time to read the nutrition facts on products and maybe switch to low sugar or no sugar versions of these or simply decide on a healthier snack instead.

During your day, spare even 20 minutes of your time to just relax, meditate or even socialize with a friend. This will help boost your energy level and give you time to clear your head.

Experts vouch for adults to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, three times per week. Keep in mind also that any amount of exercise is better than none.
