How to keep moisture in your skin during winter!

Its winter which means the air outside is frigid and dry and the indoor heat just leaves our skin more parched! Skin moisturizers rehydrate the skin and seal in the moisture. In General, the thicker and greasier a moisturizer is, the more effective it will be. Some of the most effective are petroleum jelly and moisturizing oils, which precludes water loss without clogging the skin’s pores. Because these substances do not contain water, they are best used while your skin is still damp from bathing, to help seal in the moisture. Other moisturizers will contain water as well as oil, varying in proportions. These moisturizers are less greasy and are more cosmetically appealing than petroleum jelly or oils. To help replenish your skin with the indoor heat on, use a humidifier. Setting the humidifier level around 60% should be sufficient to replenish the top layer of the skin. You can prevent chapping parched hands by switching to soap-free cleansers and alcohol-free hand sanitizers. These are less drying than washing your hands repeatedly with soap and water.
