Skin Care Tip:

The mystery of skin care products!

It's not all clear cut when it comes to your skin care products and there’s a ton of information to consider when choosing the right one. To try to cut through confusion and shed some light on the important facts you shouldn’t ignore, one thing to keep in mind - when looking at the product ingredients you want to be able to read all of them. If you can’t, then that’s your first warning. You want to make sure your products are natural or organic. Founders of all natural beauty have consitently found that regular skin care ingredients usually have harsh dish washing liquid in them, which causes your skin to break out and clog your pores. They say that we are what we eat. By putting unnatural products on our bodies, our bodies absorb those ingredients as well. That can't be good for you! Use products that are safe.

Plastic Surgery Tip:

Chicago NonSurgical Chin - Neck Contouring Surgery

Kybella a new treatment that treats something called submental fullness which is the buildup of excess fat under the chin. Most people build this fat up over time, often referred to as the double chin. What's exciting about this is it's the first non-surgical way to treat this area and we've never simply had an option like this before. Patients get a series of injections two to four times over two to four months. The active ingredient destroys fat cells. Kybella is not for everyone. It will not help those with saggy loose skin and certain medical conditions. Consult with your doctor about these treatments to see if you are a candidate.

Make sure you chose a board certified plastic surgeon. A call to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS at 1-888-4-PLASTIC (ie. 1-888-475-2784) can tell you which doctors are legitimate plastic surgeons with outstanding qualifications. You can also visit the ASPS web site at www.plasticsurgery.org. The ASPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and all areas of the body. When considering a cosmetic surgeon, you should also make sure your surgeon is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). A call to ASAPS (1-888-272-7711) or visiting the ASAPS website (www.plasticsurgery.org) can help you verify your plastic surgeons membership.
