Skin Care Tip:

Why sunscreen is still important in the winter!

We all know that when winter comes, the cold air dries your skin out. This makes skin more susceptible to becoming sunburned during the winter. Melanin in the skin is reduced during the winter which causes the skin to become more sensitive to the sun. Wearing sunscreen or makeup that has sunscreen in it can help reduce the skin from being sensitive to the sun and prevent sunburn. Sunscreen also prevents the skin from becoming dry if you pick the right one.

Anti-Aging Tip:

How sugar affects your skin health!

We all long for that perfect glowing skin especially during the holidays, well here are some ways sugar affects your skin health. Be sure to limit your sugar intake this winter to be sure you have the perfect glow

  • Inflammation: Since sugar is highly acidic, it causes a rise in blood sugar which produces inflammation in the body. Any inflammation will cause the skin to breakout.
  • Dehydration: Sugar absorbs water from the cells in your body, causing it become dehydrated. This causes puffiness and dark under eye circles. Drink plenty of water to prevent this from occurring.
  • Wrinkles: Sugar attacks the collagen in your skin. Collagen is what prevents the skin from wrinkling and giving it that beautiful glow. Once the collagen is weakened, wrinkles begin occurring.
