Rosacea in the summer!
The first and most important step to treating your rosacea is to understand what the most common causes are. The most common triggers are the sun, wind, vigorous exercise, stress, extreme swings in the weather, alcohol and skin products. Sun rays are very harmful to the skin and it is the #1 cause of worsening rosacea. Find a product that has at least an SPF of 30 to add to your morning skin regimen. Wind and extreme weather can cause the skin to dry out which can cause a rosacea “breakout.” Rosacea breakouts are commonly mistaken for adult acne. It appears on the face sometimes as small pimples and can even make the eyelids swell and burn. As for alcohol, the only thing you can probably do is try to avoid it or opt for a nonalcoholic beverage. Sometimes it is frustrating but find a skin regimen with products that don’t make you break out or flare your rosacea. Try products that are for sensitive skin and don’t have the following ingredients Retinyl palmitate, retinyl acetate, retinoic acid and retinol.
The power of pomegranate!
Pomegranate has many internal and external benefits for the human body. Just one pomegranate contains 40% of an adults daily vitamin C requirement. Studies have shown that there are some possible internal benefits which include improvement in blood flow to the heart. In one particular study of 45 Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) patients patients who drank 8 oz. of 100% pomegranate juice a day for three months responded during a stress test with less ischemia (not enough blood flow to the heart). Some other possible internal benefits include keeping cholesterol at bay, reducing plaque that has already built up in vessels, and even slowing prostate cancer. As for external benefits, pomegranate and pomegranate oil contains antioxidants that fight free radicals as well as skin aging. Pomegranate oil is a potent source of flavonoids and punicic acid. These acids help reduce inflammation as well as regenerate new skin, which improves skin tone and elasticity. It is also very protective and moisturizing to the outer layer of skin, therefore it is very beneficial for mature skin. You can find products that contain pomegranate oil in facial oil, cleansers and moisturizers to which you can add to your daily skin regimen so that you too can bask in the benefits of the pomegranate
Chicago Otoplasty Surgery
Otoplasty is cosmetic ear surgery to reshape the ear. Usually it is done on adult patients and patients no younger than the age of five. The reason it is not performed on patients younger than five years old is because the surgery needs to be done on a fully grown ear. Otoplasty is for patients who are not satisfied with the shape or position of their ear. It can also be performed on patients who have birth defects or have been a victim to an injury. The surgery usually takes 30-60 minutes.
