Cold Weather Tips For Your Skin!
There are a few steps you can take to help prevent dry skin caused by cold dry weather in Chicago! One easy one is to moisturize immediately after washing your hands or body. Squeaky clean skin absorbs moisture the best and retains it the longest. Make sure you are choosing the right kind of moisturizer for you as certain skin types have special needs. Remember to exfoliate your skin weekly as this helps to not allow dead skin to accumulate, which can also make you itchy.
Getting facials once a month is also very helpful and of course a licensed medical aetshtician can best help guide you on a specific routine. Try to moisturize before you go to sleep so your skin can absorb the moisture and nutrients while you sleep. Protect yourself and your skin by covering up, especially your face and hands with gloves and hats. Don’t forget to drink water. I know we like to drink nice warm drinks in the winter to fight the cold, but don’t forget your water! Last but not least is to watch your diet. Good diets reflect on your skin.Stay warm!
Benefits of Cranberries - the fruit that has it all!
Cranberries have many beneficial factors (like most fruits). A commonly known benefit is that they prevent UTI’s because of their proanthocyanidins (PACs). The special structures of PACs act as a barrier to bacteria that might latch on to the urinary tract lining or stomach lining. Raw cranberries have average levels of Vitamin C but also fiber that leads to a good diet. By the way, a serving of cranberries is only 25 calories! Some other quick facts about cranberries include that they build a stronger immune system, can prevent certain types of cancer and decrease blood pressure. So go get yourself some cranberries!
Benefits of Back lipectomy or Butt Lifting Surgery
Back lipectomy is a cosmetic procedure where excess skin and fat are removed form the lower back or upper buttock area. This is usually an outpatient procedure that takes 1-2 hours. This type of procedure can be done alone or with a body lift (body lipectomy) which includes a tummy tuck. Liposuction is usually used during this procedure to smooth out transtion zones and lead to a well contoured area. Good candidates for this procedure include realistic patients.

Make sure you chose a board certified plastic surgeon. A call to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS at 1-888-4-PLASTIC (ie. 1-888-475-2784) can tell you which doctors are legitimate plastic surgeons with outstanding qualifications. You can also visit the ASPS web site at www.plasticsurgery.org. The ASPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and all areas of the body. When considering a cosmetic surgeon, you should also make sure your surgeon is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). A call to ASAPS (1-888-272-7711) or visiting the ASAPS website (www.plasticsurgery.org) can help you verify your plastic surgeons membership.
