Skin Care Tip:

Treat your skin!

Depending on your skin type (oily, dry, sensitive...) and the time of year, there are different products that treat and enhance your skin. Different treatments will have very different results. It is important to know your skin's needs.

All types of skin need to be exfoliated. This is the removal of dead skin cells that form daily. This is an essential part of skin treatment. After shaving, you need to moisturize with a product that has absolutely no alcohol in it. Avoid heavy fragrant after-shave products too, as they can irritate the skin.

Skin that is too shiny doesn't look healthy, just greasy. Blot the excess oils away. Blotting papers or a light powder that will give you a more natural finish, are both good options to try. Don't forget about your lips. Find a balm that has an SPF of at least 15 in it. Peppermint oil has a nice feel and keeps the lips looking luscious.

Anti-Aging Tip:

Aging can happen slowly or more quickly and can occur differently in different people!

Like growth spurts, it is natural to have aging spurts when there are periods of time when individual seems to age more quickly. However, some aspects of aging can be slowed by taking proper care of your body.  One of the most obvious signs of aging is the changes that occur in the appearance of the skin. Skin aging is mainly caused by exposure to the sun and to the harsh environmental elements.  Our skin is an organ, just like the heart, liver and kidneys. It acts as a barrier from harsh environmental elements and registers pain and temperature. The skin can be easily damaged by sunlight, lack of sleep, a poor diet, smoking and free radicals if not cared for properly.

Plastic Surgery Tip:

Lots of people are interested in breast augmentation with implants. We always get questions about whether or not they are safe. Breast augmentation is a very popular procedure.  Make sure you chose a board certified plastic surgeon.  A call to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS at 1-888-4-PLASTIC (ie. 1-888-475-2784) can tell you which doctors are legitimate plastic surgeons with outstanding qualifications.  You can also visit the ASPS web site at www.plasticsurgery.org

The ASPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and all areas of the body.  By far,the most important factor in the success of your procedure is the surgeon you choose.  So please choose wisely.
