Foods for Younger Looking Skin
The four recommended foods are pomegranate, blueberry, lobster and egg. Pomegranate, especially the seeds, are full of antioxidants and vitamins, such as vitamin C and arsenal anthocyanin. A healthy vitamin C intake has been shown to help prevent fine lines, wrinkles and dryness. A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that vitamin C lessened the likelihood of dryness and wrinkles in middle aged women. The antioxidant arsenal anthocyanin helps increase collagen production, which keeps the skin looking youthful and firm. Blueberries are full of vitamin C and E. Both of these vitamins work together to rejuvenate the skin and make the skin tone more even. Believe it or not, lobster has beneficial properties for the skin. Lobster and other shellfish are high in zinc. Zinc accelerates the renewal of skin cells which can help to treat a range of skin issues including acne. Eggs are high in protein which helps to keep your nails strong. Eggs additionally contain plenty of vitamins and minerals that aid in healthy skin production.
The Science of Proper Hydration
No, it's not just about drinking more water. If it makes you feel better, that is what I used to think. For example, alcohol and sugar sap the body of water. Heat causes us to sweat and lose water. Therefore, even though they contain water, alcohol or soda on a hot summer day can lead to dehydration problems. When combined with heat and water loss, these can make you more prone to headache, nausea, and confusion. Salty foods can similarly be problematic because your body needs additional water consumption in order to counteract the salt. If you are not properly hydrating, you can create serious dehydration on a hot summer day. That being said, you can do better than simply drinking water alone. A little known fact is that you can hydrate well with food. In particular, fruit will deliver healthy hydration along with necessary nutrients that you will not get from water alone. Surprisingly, proper hydration has big benefits for the brain. Our brains rely on hydration to function at high capacity and to help control mood. Research has shown that dehydration can impair short-term memory and makes it more difficult to focus. So, to keep your brain fresh, drink several glasses of water each day and supplement that with fruit and low-sodium foods in hot, sweaty environments. Lastly, if you feel a headache coming on, drink water before considering Tylenol or aspirin. In a few minutes, the water might just do the trick.
Who Gets a Thigh Lift?
How many people have ever heard of this procedure? Thigh lift surgery reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat. The idea is that by removing the targeted fat and skin, the thigh becomes more slim and smooth. You can expect a goal of better-proportioned thighs and more cosmetically acceptable contours. As a rule, thigh lifts are not intended strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction alone can remove excess fat deposits when there is good elasticity because the skin will shrink to the new size. In cases where skin elasticity is poor, liposuction and a thigh lift will likely be recommended so that extra skin will be removed and not hang.
