Skin Care Tip

Is Your Skin Dry or Dehydrated??

As spring creeps upon us, it's important to take care of your body and skin by staying aware of whether your skin is dry, dehydrated, or both.

When your skin is dry, it may mean that it lacks oils which can result in flaky skin that can be prone to irritation. It is important to properly moisturize your skin with ingredients that go deep into your skin, but that also allow for it to breathe. When your skin is dehydrated, it may mean that your skin is lacking water in your skin cells. It is possible that your skin may be moisturized but dehydrated, so it is important to drink plenty of water and use hydrating products if necessary. Take care of your skin!

Should You Dine In or Out?

Although dining out at your favorite food places can be a great experience, there are many benefits to eating at home. Home cooked meals are usually healthier, made just the way you like them and they taste great!

Eating more home cooked meals will typically lead to a healthier lifestyle. This is because the portion size and calorie intake tends to be much more smaller when meals are home cooked. Most restaurants tend to serve 2-3 times more the recommended serving size, which means more calories are consumed. They want you to come back so they pour on salt and sugar to make it as tasty as possible and get you hooked. In addition, when meals are cooked at home, you have more control over what is being put in your food. This becomes essential if you have any food allergies or when you prefer to have a variety of different options in your meal. Lastly, deciding to cook at home can save you money. Meal prepping and buying your own ingredients have shown to be cheaper overtime.

Plastic Surgery Tip

What is a Mini or Short Scar Facelift Surgery?

A Facelift is a cosmetic procedure also known as rhytidectomy. Almost all of the facelifts in our office are short scar and almost all are done under only local anesthesia.

This quick 25-30 minute surgery can improve sagging in the middle of the face, deep creases below the eyelids and deep creases around nose extending down on the sides of the mouth. It can also improve skin tone in the lower face that creates jowls. Loose skin and excess fatty tissue under the chin and jaw can give a person of average weight the appearance of a double chin. A facelift can also help contour the neck and jaw line better than most other techniques! Of course, this can be combined with many other techniques such as a mid face lift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, injectables and laser treatments.
