Skin Care Tip

Is Your Skin Dry or Dehydrated?

There are multiple reasons as to why you may have dry skin. The first step is to try to figure out if you have dry or dehydrated skin. Dry skin is dry because it lacks oil. This might be caused by genetics. Dehydrated skin is lack of hydration possibly by a diet not consuming enough water, environmental influences, makeup or skin care side effects. Dehydrated skin can sometimes be deceiving because it may actually cause you to be oilier. Your skin lacks hydration so it tries to compensate by creating more oils, leaving you to think that you have oily skin, when you don’t. A licensed Medical Aesthetician can help you.

Anti-Aging Tip

I Can't wait For My Summer Siesta

Napping every day benefits the mind, body and soul. Most people like taking naps in the summer because the sun is hot outside and the days are longer. It also means you can stay up later and have fun at night! The National Sleep Foundation states there are different reasons for taking naps as well as different ways to nap for each individual. Naps can be planned which is useful if you know you will be staying up late or changing sleep times for work. Of course, emergency naps should be taken when you are too tired to function properly, particularly if you are someone who drives or operates machinery. Habitual naps are naps that are at the same time every day. The same time every day is the most recommended style of nap. Studies conclude that napping works best in a dark room and even using a sleep mask, if necessary. A quiet place is important. Napping increases overall productivity and health. Maybe naps could work for you?

Plastic Surgery Tip

Scar Revision Surgery

Scar revision surgery can improve, reduce or reorient the appearance of your scars. It can also restore function and correct permanent skin changes caused by injuries or a wound. Depending on the extent of the surgery, scar revision can be done with a local anesthetic where the patient is awake. Most patients can resume normal activities soon after surgery. It is best to avoid activities that stretch and may widen the new scar. Sometimes Botox injection is recommended to prevent scar widening as well as other products like our new Oxygenated Scar Support Treatment.
