Skin Care Tip

Are Chemical Peels Still A Thing?

A chemical peel is used to improve smooth texture, wrinkles, acne, scaring sun damage, pigmentation, dryness and more. Peels are intended to remove the outermost layer of the skin via a highly concentrated form of chemical exfoliation.

They come in a wide variety of strengthens and acids ranging from superficial to medium to higher penetrating peels. The solution works by reacting with the upper layer of the skin to dissolve the cells surface bond's to the skin, leaving the skin smoother & healthier skin underneath and promoting new growth.

Lighter peels should be done once every month and deeper ones every four to six months. These treatments are typically done in the fall and winter months and should not be done during the summer months due to exposing a deeper layer of the skin which means the skin is more sensitive towards heat and UV rays causing more risk for pigmentation and damage to the skin.

Anti-Aging Tip

Green tea for All?

Green tea is not only delicious to drink but it also has many great benefits for the body overall. The antioxidant blend destroys free radicals (unstable molecules that damage skin cells) and helps slow down the aging process. Along with the many antioxidants infused in green tea, it is also loaded with Vitamin B2 and E. Both of these play an important role in maintaining collagen for youthful skin. Collagen is what gives our skin the firmness and support our skin needs to maintain its appearance and as we age our collagen levels decline. Vitamin E supports new skin cell growth and also acts as an intense hydrator for dry skin.

Incorporating green tea into your day can help aid your health & youthfulness.
