The more ingredients and products your skin is exposed to, the greater the risk of inflammation.
A lot of these products can also be very abrasive, stripping the natural skin barriers. Don’t overdo it with exfoliators! The barrier is like a shield for the skin, and when it is interrupted, chemicals gain more access to the skin than intended. That can lead to skin irritation, sensitivity, redness, dryness, itching, flaking, contact dermatitis, and hard-to-treat acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
Over-moisturizing with multiple products by having moisturizers in a lot of different products can also be a problem. Too much moisture can clog your pores and make acne breakouts a real thing.
There's also the issue of overloading the skin with every hot new treatment and skin care product you read about receipt, trending on TikTok or Facebook. Don’t do it, don’t give in to the dark side.
And of course, don’t forget that we’re here for you. If you have any question or concern, set up a free in person or virtual consultation with one of our medical aestheticians seven days a week.

Don’t be so hard on yourself.
Failure is something we all go through at one point in our lives. But it doesn’t have to define us for the rest of our lives.
When you fail, typically, you’re only failing in one area. So failure is an event, it does not define the whole person. Failing at one thing whether it’s something in your work or personal, does not mean you are now a complete failure as a person. Sometimes it’s hard to understand that. Sometimes our mind likes to be negative but don’t listen to it. You are not a failure.
It’s OK to fail. Just get right back up. Learn from it and try to get better. That’s all you can really do. If you’re human, it means you’re going to eventually fail or fall flat on your face. But don’t let failure define you. And please don’t let it overwhelm you.

Skin cancer is not something you should ignore.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States so getting regular check ups, using sunblock and catching things when they’re small and early are all things that are very important.
The importance of sun safety cannot ever be underemphasized, whether you’re in the middle of the summer or the middle of winter.
It’s sad when people pass away from skin cancer, especially when they’ve had lesions that they’ve ignored for many years. If you have any doubts, please come get a quick check up as insurance typically covers skin exams. Don’t turn a blind eye and don’t ignore a suspicious lesion.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in humans so chances are we’re all going to get one at some point. But it doesn’t have to be a death sentence. Catch it early!
