Eczema is mostly associated with dry, red, itch patches on the skin.Eczema is itchy and when scratched, forms a rash. When Eczema occurs in children, most of the time they grow out of it, especially after puberty. As opposed to what you may have heard, most people do not constantly itch.Often Eczema is stimulated by a flare-up. Flare-ups are caused by coarse materials rubbing on the skin, Detergents, Contact with irritating liquids, Dust mites, and Saliva and animal Dander.
Eczema can be prevented by taking some simple precautions.Keep the skin moisturized, avoid extreme changes in temperature or humidity, avoid sweating, keep stress levels reduced, and avoid irritating fabrics, harsh soaps, detergents, environmental factors and certain foods that may cause a flare-up.
Eczema can now be treated, but the most important factor to remember when suffering from Eczema is to stop scratching!Anytime you scratch, you will stimulate a rash, making treatment more difficult. The best Eczema treatment is to keep the skin moisturized because this will prevent the skin from drying out, causing the skin to itch.If the rash does get severe, apply cold compresses to the areas to soothe the skin.Application of a Hydrocortisone cream can help calm the skin and minimize the itching. If these do not help calm the skin, call your physician - they may prescribe an Antihistamine to help control itching.
Most physicians recommend drinking 6-8 glasses of water daily to maintain proper hydration. While exercising, shopping or running errands, most people carry water bottles around with them, but how safe are they? Most plastic water bottles are made from a substance called polyethylene terephthalate (PET) because of its lightweight composition. You can tell if your water bottle is made of PET because it should have a “1” stamped on the bottom.PET is studied by the FDA for its safety among water drinkers and this meets the FDA regulations for safety for one time use only. However, it is recommended to clean your water bottle with hot, soapy water and dry completely after each use.Like any other plastic containers used to store food and beverages, water bottles can harbor bacteria, because bacteria thrive in warm, moist environments.
Most people reuse their water bottles for weeks, some even for months, before replacing them. This can be very dangerous. If you can taste plastic when you drink from your water bottle, it is highly recommended that you dispose of the bottle and get a new one right away. Keeping your bottle out of the heat and away from direct sunlight will also help maintain the life of your water bottle, (if you wash it after each use).It is also recommended that you continue to fill your water bottle with pure water, not tap water. This is true because this may damage the bottle and cause possible chemicals to mix with the plastic, causing harm to your body.
Laser treatments are a new procedure to help remove unwanted body hair.Laser hair removal is not for everybody and can also be a costly procedure. It is best to research and consult with your physician or laser technician to see if laser hair removal would be the best procedure for you. There are many risks involved with laser hair removal such as skin color, hair color, sun exposure, diet, depending on which areas are to be treated.Skin color is one of the biggest risks with laser hair removal, because the laser is attracted to pigment. For clients with darker skins, we recommend that they begin a skin-bleaching process for several weeks prior to beginning the laser hair removal process.Newer lasers are now able to treat clients with blonde, red, and grey hairs. This is always recommended to research which laser you will be treated with, because not all lasers are capable of treating all hair colors.
When beginning laser hair removal treatments, we recommend that you avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to and after each treatment.Excessive sun exposure can put you at increased risk for burning your skin.Laser treatments can also cause your skin to become more sensitive to the sun.Excessive sun exposure with laser hair removal can cause your skin to burn easier than it normally would.
Diet during laser hair removal treatments, especially Beta-Carotene can prevent excellent results with laser hair removal.Beta Carotene deposits an orange or yellow tint to the skin, which can absorb the laser energy, instead of the hair follicle. This can cause harm to the skin because the skin will absorb the laser energy and cause increased risk of burning the skin.Beta-Carotene can last for several months after consumption so we recommend cutting down your Beta-Carotene to a minimum and/or avoiding it completely during your laser hair removal series.
