Skin Care Tip:

Mineral Makeup and Skin Care

Mineral make up is exploding in the beauty market, covering everything from primers to mascara. People are discovering the best products for the skin come straight from the earth. The organic ingredients found in natural minerals have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that also deliver an added layer of sun protections. However, it is important to understand what’s in these products and look at their ingredients. The best mineral make up products are typically free of parabens and comedogenic ingredients including artificial dyes, perfumes and other potential irritants. Mineral makeup protects the skin from sun damage and environmental hazards such as pollution without causing a chemical reaction when it makes contact with the skin. With all these benefits, mineral makeup also enhances beautification too. The water-resistant minerals absorb into the skin rather than sitting on top of it like a heavy, goopy layer. They provide all day coverage and create a smooth, radiant finish that lasts longer than traditional makeup. On top of that, a jar of mineral make up will last two or three times longer than a liquid foundation!

Anti-Aging Tip:

Four Foods to Help You Look Younger?

To look younger, it is important to nourish your skin from the inside out. This means that you should consume a diet that is rich in valuable anti-aging antioxidants. Here are four foods which can help you look years younger. Sweet potatoes are a rich source of Vitamin A or beta carotene that your body makes from this particular vitamin. Vitamin A is responsible for generating new, healthy skin cells. You prepare these potatoes in any way you like. Carrots are rich in beta carotene just like the sweet potato. As a powerful antioxidant, it will help us defeat free radicals which accelerate skin aging. You can add carrots to your meals or you can eat them raw as a snack. Spinach is laden with three anti-wrinkle vitamins: C, E and beta carotene. All of these vitamins also help protect your skin form the sun’s UV rays. Not too many people add pecans to their daily diet. However, these delicious nuts are an excellent source of vitamins, which helps to ward off harmful free radicals keeping your skin looking firm years longer! These are just some of the most powerful anti-aging foods. Remember to eat a healthy diet, one that is rich in valuable nutrients.

Plastic Surgery Tip:

Chicago New Treatment for Migraines

Botox, the wrinkle-smoothing injectable, recently received Federal approval for use for migraine headaches. The Food and Drug Administration approved the drug for patients who experience 15 or more days of migraine headaches per month. For the new use, doctors are directed to inject patients in the neck or head every 12 weeks to dull future headaches. Doctors currently use a wide variety of medications to treat migraines, ranging from over-the-counter painkillers like Advil to prescription narcotics like codeine. Many patients also respond to changes in diet or lifestyle, such as reducing caffeine or stress.

The FDA approved the new use based on two studies of more than 1,300 patients who received either a Botox injection or a dummy injection. Patients who received Botox reported slightly fewer "headache days" than patients given the sham treatment. In the more significant of the two studies, patients on Botox reported about two fewer headache days than patients who didn't receive the drug. The drug won approval earlier this year to treat spasms in the elbows, wrists and fingers. But it's also widely used off-label to treat broader movement disorders such as cerebral palsy. Botox works by blocking the connections between nerves and muscle, temporarily paralyzing the muscle.
