Micro-coring technology uses small-punch biopsies to carefully remove thousands of tiny columns of skin, which also causes micro-injuries that encourage the formation of collagen, according to Dr. Sam Speron, a board-certified Plastic Surgeon in Chicago. Removing the excess skin, without an incision or thermal energy, unwinds years off the clock on skin laxity.
Micro-coring may help with mild to moderate skin laxity and drooping around the jawline, cheeks, jowls, and chin if having surgery is not an option. There is also no obvious scarring since the stainless steel micro-needles used are so small (22 gauge).
Having a conversation with your doctor is the first step before deciding to undergo micro-coring (or any operation). Your doctor will use injectable anesthetics and lidocaine injections to numb the treatment region if you are a good candidate for micro-coring and to make the operation as seamless as feasible.
The micro-coring handpiece is placed over the loose skin to swiftly punch out minute bits of skin with the needles (which are so tiny that they are invisible to the naked eye). The apparatus will then suction out the excised skin.
You might anticipate some bleeding, scabbing, leftover redness, moderate bruising, and swelling after the 30-minute treatment (usually, patients need three sessions spaced at least one month apart). You'll need to take it easy for approximately three days since there is some recovery period, but Dr. Speron says discomfort is seldom a problem following micro-coring.
The procedure itself is relatively quick, lasting about 20-30 minutes. We begin with topical and then local anesthesia to make the procedure comfortable and pain-free. The handheld device stamps, then suctions the skin in a grid-like pattern.
Significant expectations are always there regarding minimally invasive and noninvasive treatments. This procedure, like everything else except surgery, generally isn't for you if you're hoping for skin that is as tight as that you get from a facelift.
Micro-coring has a use for people who are not surgical candidates, don't have the time to recuperate from surgery, or don't want to spend the time, effort or money on cosmetic surgery. Most physicians advise micro-coring for patients between the ages of 40 and 50 who are beginning to see loose skin and wish to halt it before it gets out of hand. According to Dr. Speron, many patients troubled with wrinkles but not ready for surgery benefit from micro-coring.
Success with the therapy hinges on skin quality, just as with so many other technologies now accessible. Lower-face creases and mild to severe slack skin respond well to micro-coring. The surgery won't have a dramatic enough impact if there is too much loose skin, and patients may not be satisfied with the outcomes. However, too little loose skin won't have much of an impact as well.

Whether it’s changing a portion of the body to make it look normal or improving a “normal” facet of the body to make it look even more aesthetically pleasing, the goal of the plastic surgeon is to help the patient look good and feel good about him or herself.
"Bye, bye mole! I should've done this a long time ago."
"No more moles and no scar - unlike what that other doctor wanted to do!
"It is amazing how different this was from another mole I had removed by my primary doctor!"
“I recommend Dr. Speron to everyone!
