Scars don't go away entirely, but there are things you can do to improve the appearance and feel of your scar. Before doing any of the following, see your dermatologist (skin doctor). About 4 weeks following surgery, the majority of individuals may begin performing them.
Allowing your scar to be exposed to sunlight may cause it to heal more slowly. It might also make the scar seem darker and larger.
