Yes. Of course, we have a few different options for excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis, but with recent FDA clearance, the Brella SweatControl Patch is kinda cool. It’s an in-office treatment that uses a patented “targeted alkali thermolysis” (TAT) technology to reduce excessive sweating. It takes about three minutes. The sodium sheet targets sweat glands to slow sweat production and stop excessive sweating. This new option promises 3-4 months of relief, which is comparable to Botox injections for excessive sweating.
The only real downside I can think about is if somebody just wants their sweating reduced like 50% in the armpits for example, you can just give them less shots or less Botox in each shot. With Brella, it seems like it's going to pretty much give you 90% less sweating. We haven't tried this yet, but I guess one idea is to not leave the patch on as long. We are the first office in the Chicago area to start doing this so I guess time will and we’ll be able to answer this question for you in a few months if it's a concern for you.
Bottom line is it seems safe and is non-invasive. There’s no real downtime. So if you're looking for a solution to excessive sweating that actually works, Candesant Biomedical may be the answer for you.
