Don’t overload your skin with complex products or a lot of products

The more ingredients and products your skin is exposed to, the greater the risk of inflammation.

A lot of these products can also be very abrasive, stripping the natural skin barriers. Don’t overdo it with exfoliators! The barrier is like a shield for the skin, and when it is interrupted, chemicals gain more access to the skin than intended. That can lead to skin irritation, sensitivity, redness, dryness, itching, flaking, contact dermatitis, and hard-to-treat acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Over-moisturizing with multiple products by having moisturizers in a lot of different products can also be a problem. Too much moisture can clog your pores and make acne breakouts a real thing.

There's also the issue of overloading the skin with every hot new treatment and skin care product you read about receipt, trending on TikTok or Facebook. Don’t do it, don’t give in to the dark side.

And of course, don’t forget that we’re here for you. If you have any question or concern, set up a free in person or virtual consultation with one of our medical aestheticians seven days a week.
