Some easy ways to avoid facial aging!
Today we’re gonna talk about some pretty simple things you can do to slow down facial aging. Some of these things people don’t even realize make aging worse.
Sleeping on your back to avoid having your face firmly up against a pillow, like when you sleep on your face or on the side of your face. Both those maneuvers are bad for your skin and can cause crease lines. These crease lines are typically resistant to treatment with Botox and run in different directions than the wrinkles of animation like, for example, crows feet.
Steering clear of gum-chewing. Some people get masseteric, hypertrophy or even TMJ problems. We can do Botox to decrease masseteric hypertrophy, but unless you genetically have this like in certain populations, it’s better to just not aggressively or too frequently chew gum so you don’t get it.
Smoking is bad for you. It’s bad for your lungs and it’s really bad for your skin. The old Marlboro man ads were spot on. If you want leathery and old looking skin, then, by all means, go ahead and smoke. But most people that dont smoke look far younger and stay younger looking.
Don’t drink too much. Drinking messes with a lot of things including your sleep schedule and your overall health which ultimately leads to older looking facial skin. An occasional drink is fine but don’t overdo it.
I hydrate. Drink enough water to make sure that we are going to the bathroom. It’s fairly clear. If your urine is dark, it means you’re dehydrated. Dehydration is bad for a lot of different things. it’ll make you feel more tired, irritable, affect your mood, give you headaches, affect your sleeping habits as well as of course make your skin look older. You can moisturize your skin all you want but drinking enough water takes precedence over moisturizing.
These are a just a couple of simple things that can slow down the facial aging process. This is a topic I could talk about for a long time but I just pointed out some of the quickest and most important things to help your facial skin look younger. I hope you found it helpful.
